Lexi & Jonathan’s Wedding at The Clay Theatre: Fishing Reels, Tears, and Champagne Towers

Let me just start by saying: I love The Clay Theatre. It’s got this killer mix of old-school charm and modern vibes—it’s like stepping into a swanky, old Hollywood movie, but with way better lighting. And while I’m obsessed with cool venues, what really stole the show that day wasn’t the venue itself—it was Lexi and Jonathan. These two? They’re a whole damn vibe.

From the moment I met them, I knew this was going to be something special. Lexi and Jonathan are that couple who are just so ridiculously happy together, it’s contagious. You can’t help but smile when you see how they look at each other. And Jonathan? He’s head-over-heels for Lexi in the way that makes your heart melt. The man couldn’t take his eyes off her all day. It’s the kind of love that feels like magic.

Now, one of my favorite things about these two is how they bonded over fishing. Yep, fishing. Jonathan couldn’t believe that not only did Lexi love to fish, but she was better than him. And to rub it in just a little (in the cutest way possible), she got him this insanely expensive fishing reel as his wedding gift—one that she already owns, by the way. It was basically her way of saying, “Good luck catching up to me, babe.” Their humor and banter are next-level, and it just makes them even more fun to be around.

And it’s not just all jokes. Lexi and Jonathan are the real deal. Lexi appreciates how hard Jonathan works for them, and Jonathan’s whole goal in life is to make sure she’s secure and taken care of. They’re one of those couples that truly geteach other. Throughout the day, I kept catching them sneaking these sweet little moments—like how Lexi would make sure Jonathan had all his stuff and was aware of what was going on. She’s got his back, and he’s got hers. That’s love, man.

By the end of the night, Jonathan was in sweet tears. We’re talking sincere and vulnerable, telling me how much he appreciated and loved me for being there. He felt like we were friends, and honestly? Same, dude. It’s impossible not to feel close to people like Lexi and Jonathan by the end of a day like that. When you connect so deeply with a couple, it hits different, and by the end, we were all in our feelings.

And then came one of the most heart-wrenching moments of the night—the father-daughter dance. Lexi’s father wasn’t there, so her brother-in-law stepped up to dance with her. Let me tell you, there wasn’t a dry eye in the damn place. You could feel the love and support radiating from her family, and capturing that moment was an absolute privilege. It wasn’t just a dance—it was a reminder of the strength Lexi has and the love that surrounds her.

But it wasn’t all tears and sweet moments—they also knew how to throw one hell of a party. Their first dance was straight-up dreamy. The DJ had a fog machine, making it look like they were literally dancing on a cloud, and it was chef’s kiss perfect. And of course, they had a champagne tower. Seriously, more champagne towers at weddings, please! It was one of those fun little touches that just elevated the whole night and gave everyone an excuse to get a little tipsy in style.

Now, I’m not going to lie—sometimes, photographing young couples makes me nervous. There’s that little voice in the back of my head that wonders if they really understand what a lifetime commitment looks like. But with Lexi and Jonathan? Not even a question. These two are the real deal. Their love is strong, and they’ve already been through so much together. It’s the kind of love that feels solid, grounded, and built to last.

And let’s not forget Jonathan’s dance with his mom. Oh man, the two of them were sobbing the whole time, and honestly, I might have shed a tear or two behind the camera. It was this raw, beautiful moment between mother and son, and you could just feel how much love was there.

At the end of the day, what made this wedding so special wasn’t just the beautiful venue or the champagne tower—it was the people. Lexi and Jonathan are surrounded by friends and family who clearly adore them, and it was such a joy to see how happy everyone was to be there celebrating with them. I couldn’t have asked for a more amazing couple to work with, and I’m pretty sure I’ll be gushing about their wedding for a long time. Without further ado please enjoy their photos.
